Redesign of Little Red Ridding Hood. I was playing with brushes just as an experiment.

1 min each drawings from a random creature generator online. Sometimes the words didn't quite match up well together making for a pretty interesting assignment.

We had to take one of our generated characters and finalize it.

I did a really fine tuned color-pencil drawing for this that I can't seem to get a good photo of since I drew it on transparent paper. I forgot what my exact words were but they were along the lines of " morose entangled missle panda"

Poor anatomy study of the part of the human body we have the most trouble with. For me that would be the legs.

I was going for a more classical approach hinting at the ideas in the film of the actual jewel and it being stolen from a museum. But it apparently wasn't displaying the era from whence the movie was made enough.

"Deliquescence"

Illustrate a word randomly picked from "the dictionary of words you've definitely never heard of".

Not something im particularly proud of but I whipped it out in less than two hours. Sometimes things just don't work out.

This next project was to start our thesis. I know essentially what I want to do and that would be something along the lines of product design (specifically toys). So I came up with a character design and really just wanted to flesh it out 3-dimensionally.

He stands firm about 8in- wire armature, polymer (sculpey) build, and acrylic

I'll be taking some better pro photos later.

This was for an assignment we were given to illustrate an NPR article. I chose one about the secret organization called Pantone whos job is to essentially pick THE color for the upcoming seasons fashions. They meet in an all white room and each member brings an object corresponding to their color choice.

As a twist the illustrations had to be somewhat funny. So I thought it'd be fun if Pantone were cult-like and wanted to change the color of every panda bear in an attempt to raise awareness of extinction and what not.

Everything is glued in place and the box closes perfectly.

This was my final which was a "do anything you want" project. So I played with clay and tested out some different ways of sculpting. Thinking a lot about texture for the most part.

Barnaclli float in the sea near fisherman wharfs. Sometimes fish like to come up for air and sunbathe on their backs.

The exposed booty makes me giggle.

Polymer, acrylic, and spray glaze for that wet look.

Had to do an environment copy so I chose this piece by Justin Cherry aka Nivbed

We were given a .jpg image that was just a smear of colors and were told to do do anything we felt like doing using those colors. Pretty fun

Snow Queen Castle. I get really freaked out and overwhelmed for no reason when it comes to drawing environments so I try just a little bit too hard to make them not environments haha

Vehicle design I was just sort of messing around but I think it's sort of cute in a shitty way. Enjoyed doing thumbnails with the lasso tool also.

Finally, we were assigned a specific flavor of pie from Dangerously Delicious Pies

so we went there expecting delicious pie but only to find two rude dirty hipsters making pie and hating life I guess. Whatever my pie was "Baltimore Bomb" basically chocolatey caramely toffeey piey. They didn't have it. Cool. SO after the disappointing pie place we had to design a plate based (loosely) on our pies (that we didnt get to eat) We get to the pottery place only to find two more rude dirty hipsters workin there. What is UP Baltimore? These people are gross!

ANYWAYANYWAY, thats my pie plate. It's not bad. I only noticed that I spelled Dangerously "Dangergusly" during the crit. Awesome. Go me. Dangergusly is now a kitchen word we use in the apartment.

Did this super duper quick postcard for class based on the famous Ryogoku sumo arena.

Im really pleased with how well that bleedy ink brush worked! Not bad for fake calligraphy right. I managed to write Su Mo in the red box ALLBYMYSELF.

I unsuccessfully managed to scan most of my sketchbook from this semester aka all my Visual Journalism work. Currently working on a 32 pg book and I want to DIE.

Either way I only have 7 actual school days left which is stressfully exciting.

I'll post that book along with the rest of my finals probably maybe sometime.

I've been really lazy lately about puttin' stuff up but since i'm in class right now and have better things to do this is easily the most opportune time!

First up, my landscape concept photo manipulation.

We went to Big Huge Games for the critique which was scary but cool and I freaked out for nothing.

God, what absolute HELL. I hated this. 100 digital paintings nothing too specific..our jump off point was the "versus" assignment so the first 10 are mainly jellyfish. I guess they look kind of nice all lined up together like that though. Each individual one is about 4 inches.

Someday i'll put non-digital work up. Swearsies.

My lips are chapped this is rare! There is something around 3-4ft of snow outside? So basically if I go outside i'll drown in it. Having only 1 class this week this should have meant I would have alllll my homework done. Old habits die hard.

Jelly update-this is what I went with after many hours of tweaking.

Sort of a bad acid trip. Im not happy with it but I need to steep away from it and come back later to progress further. So, done for now.

I'm currently working on 100 4in. 5minute paintings. 20 down- 80 to go. I gotta put some of my visual journalism pages up hopefully within the next two weeks? Who knows!
